This summer the color that’s really inspiring is violet. Give me all things violet! Especially the really light hues that are almost dreamy, whimsy, and give a holographic feel.
One very sweet reason why this color holds a special place in my heart is that we are having a baby girl and naming her Violet 🙂 (In case you missed it, we are pregnant!)
We love that it’s a classic and unique name. (I did a poll on Insta to see if people would guess the name right and very few did. Instead, the name Penelope was in the lead 😉
Purple can be a very moody color but paired well with bright and high-contrast colors, it can be spunky, edgy, and whimsical. I love how it looks with warm colors that are in the orange spectrum. This mood board might make me want to have a maternity shopping spree!

Being that summer is my favorite season (yes, even though it’s an inferno in Florida} I usually feel more creative and bright. And purple is the perfect color to express those things. It evokes uplifting, bright, and inspiring feelings. And it can also express modesty and faithfulness.
It is very fitting that the purple petals of the violet are said to mean “I’ll always be true”. My biggest prayer for our baby girl Violet is that she’d be faithful–loyal, unwavering, steadfast, and truehearted.
That she’d remain true to her identity in Christ.
If I just sit for a minute, close my eyes, and imagine how Violet will be, I can see a whimsy, bright, creative, and faith-filled girl. I know she’ll do her name justice, for sure <3
